“Squirrel in Tree” . . . Squirrel on patio? July 3, 2009

Squirrel visitor

"Squirrel in Tree": Style No. 126 or Set of 8: 126-Set
Which came first? The “Squirrel in Tree” card? Or the squirrel on patio table? Well of course we all know that the card came first. So maybe the squirrel just wanted to visit his greeting card bro? Or maybe (most likely) he just wanted to snack on the birdseed we have on our patio. Birdseed for squirrels you say? Hey, it’s a crazy world.

Patina, a six-store chain in Minneapolis-St. Paul, is one of the finer gift boutiques in the Twin Cities area, and they feature Paper Loop cards. We are proud to be a part of these great stores. You can see more photos here in our Facebook Patina photo-album. Check out their Yelp reviews.

PAPER LOOP SHRUGS OFF DOWN ECONOMY TO THRIVE IN SECOND YEAR AT THE NATIONAL STATIONERY SHOW IN NEW YORK CITY
June 16, 2009, Los Angeles, California–Los Angeles based greeting card manufacturer Paper Loop has returned from a successful exhibition at the 2009 National Stationery Show at the Javits Center in New York City. This woman business enterprise (WBE), founded by Sara Cumings, has seen enormous growth in the past year since first exhibiting at the NSS in 2008.
Despite a weak economy, Paper Loop has managed to increase sales, add retailers and assemble a fleet of sales reps covering 32 states and Canada. Since launching in fall of 2007, Ms. Cumings’ designs can now be found in over 100 stores around the country; from small boutiques to prominent chains such as Paper Source, Patina (Minneapolis-St. Paul), Atlanta’s Limetree and the UK’s Paperchase. At the 2008 Stationery Show, Paper Loop’s retailers numbered six.
One of the reasons for the early success are the upbeat and colorful designs, which visitors to their booth often called “happy”. In difficult economic times the company sees their whimsical style as a product differentiator. The company sees greeting cards as a low-cost way for consumers to express sentiments of all kinds. Furthermore, niche cards such as cat and dog sympathy, expecting mother, Bar/Bat Mitzvah and congratulations have shown to be very popular with shop owners. Some of the newer card designs feature hand-drawn lettering on the inside greeting, replacing the font style greetings of earlier cards in the collection.
Card buyers gravitate to the many animal character cards in the collection. Two of the latest, Rock Star Cat and Rock Star Dog exemplify all the latest successful Paper Loop traits: bright colors, fun characters and hand-drawn greetings.
The company sees continued growth in the second half of 2009, as more sales reps come aboard, new card styles continue to be introduced and the holiday card buying season approaches.
Paper Loop can now be found on their blog (paperloop.wordpress.com); on Facebook (link found on their blog); in addition to their website (www.paper-loop.com).
